This limit is determined by the legislator. THC is listed as a psychotropic substance, but may be contained within Austria up to 0.3% in commercial hemp. An abuse as an addictive substance can therefore be excluded. Since in other EU member states the limit is still 0.2%, our products contain less than 0.2% THC.
At cannhelpwe take product safety very seriously. Therefore, we have our raw materials, but also our products, regularly tested by certified laboratories and also publish the results of these analyses and laboratory results in the Quality and Quality Assurance section on our homepage.
Our products are manufactured in Austria. The ingredients are exclusively thoroughly tested and natural raw materials derived from food. Most of our products also contain terpenes, better known as essential oils, which give our products their special aroma.
Products to which CBD has been added are currently not recommended for use, as approval at EU level is a prerequisite for marketing. The reason for this is the so-called "Novel Food Regulation", which states that foods which have not been consumed to a significant extent before May 15, 1997 are first subject to a safety assessment by the European Health Authority EFSA and require approval.
Quelle
Products to which CBD has been added are currently not yet approved for ingestion, since an approval at EU level is the prerequisite for marketing. This does not apply to foods that already contain natural levels of CBD such as hemp seed oil, hemp tea or hemp protein powder. Source
The recent decisions of the United Nations (UN) to remove cannabis from Schedule IV of the 1961 Convention and to no longer classify it as a dangerous drug in the future is based, among other things, on the recommendation of the World Health Organization (WHO), and is intended to help recognize the medicinal value of cannabis. In parallel, the EU Commission has already confirmed in writing to the EIHA (European Industrial Hemp Association) in December 2020 that CBD can be classified as a possible food and not as a narcotic. The European Commission is resuming the review of applications for authorisation of CBD products and continuing those for applications already submitted. Daniel Kruse, president of the European Industrial Hemp Association called the development groundbreaking for the industry and was pleased with the decision to qualify CBD as a food rather than a drug.

It is a pleasure for cannhelp, together with other European industry leaders, to be an active member of the EIHA Novel Food Consortium in taking this issue forward at this level. Again, we are fully transparent and in constant exchange with the authorities to further improve access to CBD oil and hemp products in the EU.
A medical effect may only be attributed to approved medicines, as the effect and safety has been verified by studies. Already approved medicines with CBD are used for epilepsy and multiple sclerosis, as CBD has anti-inflammatory and antispasmodic effects. However, this does not mean that all products with CBD possess these effects and alleviate illnesses.
Some manufacturers of supplements containing CBD advertise medicinal effects such as pain relief, anxiety reduction, or general health improvement, even though their products have not been approved for this purpose. In doing so, they refer to current research results with CBD, which point to a variety of possible medical uses for CBD. In doing so, these market players not only accept potentially high penalties, but also capitalize on the fear and hope of consumers.
cannhelp does not advertise any medical effect and does not give any recommendation regarding dosage and intake, as the products are aromatic oils. Source
The endocannabinoid system (ECS) consists of two primary receptors - CB1 and CB2, as well as a variety of lesser known receptors such as the GPR18, GPR55 and GPR119 receptors, and enzymes such as FAAH (Fatty Acid Amide Hydrolase). CB1 and CB2 receptors are found throughout the body, CB1 receptors are mostly found on neurons where they regulate neuronal activity and CB2 receptors are predominantly found on immune cells.
The Endocannabinoid System (ECS), a complex physiological system was first described in 1992 by a research team from the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH, Bethesda, Maryland/USA) led by William Devane and Dr. Lumir Hanus in collaboration with the Israeli scientist Raphael Mechoulam. The ECS is an endogenous regulatory system of the nervous and immune system that can significantly influence the functions of memory, appetite, metabolism, temperature regulation, stress behavior, immune response, pain perception and motivation. This occurs through the production of endocannabinoids, such as anandamide and 2-AG, which can then bind to receptors to have a regulatory effect. CBD, along with other plant compounds, can also bind to these receptors and is therefore referred to as a phyto-cannabinoid.
In research, there is justified hope that targeted interventions in the body's own endocannabinoid metabolism will open up new therapeutic approaches. But more research is needed for this.
CBD oils referred to as full-spectrum contain the entire phytocomplex of the commercial hemp plant. Specifically, a full-spectrum extract contains the entire range of ingredients of the hemp plant. In addition to CBD, other valuable cannabinoids such as CBDa, CBV, CBG, but also terpenes and flavonoids are included. A full-spectrum CBD oil draws from the fullness of nature - pure and unadulterated. In recent years, the term broad spectrum extract has also become popular. This is a full-spectrum extract without THC content.
According to Aristotle: "The whole is more than the sum of its parts". A plant matrix contains a variety of substances that can support each other in their effects. There are also interactions between the individual cannabinoids and between terpenes and cannabinoids.
